Have you installed the profiler software that came with the stick? If so, it should have installed the appropriate driver. (and you don't need the profiler running in the background, dispite what it tells you when you close it.)

natürlich - sure , the correct drivers are installed .
This is the first time i use a stick with force feedback ...
..the profiler software do not recognize that descent 3 is an
force feedback game....
Is that normaly that the "Auto detect" in the Descent 3 Setup Menu
do not detecting my stick as an Force Feedback stick !?

do it from inside the game

usb joysticks usually will not be seen in the D3 launcher to activate(because it's looking for a Midi/Joyport controller), yet they still can be can be activated ingame

While the game is launched click

options, config, joy/mouse, adjust settings

you should see an option on the right side at bottom for force feedback enable/disable and general settings. If not... it's not supported

Logitech Profiler software version 5.02.116

And I've never seen the FF options or enable/disable box in:
options, config, joy/mouse, adjust settings.

Click the setup button on the launcher, and click the controller tab. Make sure the "Use FF" box is checked.

The "Current Joystick" in the launcher is:

Joystick 1

instead of logitech force 3d...

The test above was made on vista enviroment. I've tried in XP Pro SP2 and I still can't check the option FF in the launcher, however it recognizes the joystick Logitech Force 3d pro instead of Joystick 1 (on vista). I've tried the FF feature in other games, e.g. Combat Flight Simulator 3, and it's working just fine. So it brings me to the same issue, I just can't use FF in Descent 3. Any Tips?
